White Buffalo Turquoise comes from the Dry Creek Mine in Tonopah, Nevada, discovered by the Otteson family in 1993, but it's technically not true turquoise; it's often magnesite or howlite with distinctive black or brown chert veins, named "White Buffalo" for its appearance and discovery in turquoise-rich areas, making it a valuable and unique material for Southwest jewelry.
