Arizona turquoise primarily originates from historic, copper-rich mines in the northwestern and southeastern parts of the state, with the Kingman Mine being the most productive and enduring source (since 600 A.D.). Other major, iconic sources include the Sleeping Beauty, Morenci, and Bisbee mines, known for distinct, vibrant blue, and often matrix-rich, stones.
