Pink Peruvian opal originates primarily from the Andes Mountains in Peru, specifically within a small desert area near Ica. Known as the national stone of Peru, this rare, opaque, and non-play-of-color variety of common opal is formed by volcanic activity. It is often found in the La Rosda Mine and is believed to be a gift from the Pachamama (Mother Earth) in Inca culture.
