Pink Peruvian opal is a rare, naturally occurring variety of common opal almost exclusively mined high in the Andes Mountains of Peru. Treasured as Peru's national stone, it formed over millions of years within silicon-rich volcanic rocks. The stone is found almost entirely in the remote, high-altitude regions of the Andes Mountains in Peru.
