Malachite's origin is primarily linked to copper ore deposits, where it forms as a secondary mineral in the upper oxidized zones. It's a copper carbonate hydroxide, formed when copper minerals undergo weathering and oxidation. Major sources include the Democratic Republic of Congo, Russia, Namibia, and Zambia.
