Labradorite is a stone that was discovered in 1770 by Moravian missionaries on the Isle of St. Paul in Labrador, Canada. The stone's name comes from where it was first discovered. Labradorite is also known as the "Firestone" or the "fire rock". The stone's striking play of colors caught the attention of Moravian missionaries, who brought it to Europe.
