Kyanite originates in high-pressure, high-temperature metamorphic rocks found globally, with significant deposits in countries like Brazil, Nepal, the United States, India, Kenya, and Tanzania. It is an aluminum silicate mineral that forms from the metamorphism of aluminum-rich sediments and is known for its unique property of having different hardness values depending on the direction of measurement.
