Coral fossils originate from the hard, calcium carbonate skeletons of ancient marine animals, which, after the polyps died, became buried by sediment, replaced by minerals (like silica for agate), and hardened into rock over millions of years, preserving the original structure and indicating past warm, shallow seas. These fossils date back over 500 million years and are found globally in sedimentary rocks, revealing clues about ancient ecosystems and climate.
Rainbow Moonstone comes from various locations worldwide, including India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and Tanzania, with India and Sri Lanka being prominent sources for high-quality stones. Although technically a variety of labradorite, it is a member of the feldspar family and is known for its blue, rainbow, or multicolored adularescence.
