Apatite originates from geological processes forming igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks, appearing in diverse environments from volcanic regions to the ocean floor. It is also found in biological systems, making it the only mineral present in the human body, particularly in teeth and bones. Early discoveries of apatite were made in Germany and Mexico in the 18th century, with its name coming from the Greek word "apate" (deceit) due to its resemblance to other gemstones.
