Apatite originates from various geological environments, forming in igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks, and is a common phosphate mineral found globally in places like Brazil, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia, and Myanmar, named from the Greek apate (deceit) due to its confusion with other gems. It's also the key mineral in bones and teeth, and even found on the Moon.
